What the main things are you look for when starting a new game and selecting a new club?
(It’s like some kind of sickness/AA meeting this)!!
I, like many of you, am so ready for this new Footy Manager to come out & spend many hours sat on my laptop in the same room as the Mrs to keep her sweet, but I don't even know shes there!!! As I become so immersed in my journey and also the journey of the 16-year old Nigerian I have plucked from Copenhagen for 100k!
The Mrs will want to talk about savings or the ‘the bodyguard’ and all I care about is my Nigerian prodigy’ stats for dribbling increase from 13 up to 14!!!
Anyway, I was wondering what the main things are you look for when starting a new game and selecting a new club?
Do you always go for the team you support regardless?
Transfer budget? Wage budget?
Board leniency?
Board expectations?
League they are in? For example, 1 stand out team so good chance will win league!
Or do you like to start at bottom of the pyramid and earn your stripes? As that is a great feeling when you start in league 2 and higher placed teams come in for you, and although not a major jump sometimes just from having a bottom 6 club to a top 6 club is great!
I often like to go with a Championship club and pick out a few good season long loans from Premier League clubs. This can make a big difference especially if you can get a 20 goals striker at Champ level.
I like a decent transfer budget so have room for manoeuvre if can't get the dead wood out!
But this year I have to start with my beloved Arsenal! As I have spent 5-10 years shouting at my TV about what needs to be done with that team from transfers to on the pitch, so now I am going to prove I can be better than Wenger's 1st decade!!
